Somatic approaches to dance pedagogy through Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis
Wednesday:
We will work with the theme of Effort, the dynamic quality in movement, creating inner imagery to support outer expression. We learn to observe and describe different movement qualities, finding aliveness and choice in our dancing and teaching.

Thursday:
We will examine different ways to embody Space, from spatial patterns to movement scales, supporting a full 3-dimensional body in space.

Laban Movement Analysis is a pathway to deepened embodiment and more articulated expression. The focus of this work is to offer you more choice and expand your understanding of movement and its possibilities. This workshop will provide you with tools to take directly into your teaching, and give you a chance to deepen your relationship with your body and your dance. In this workshop we will use touch, movement and voice work.
